The Structure of the Karuna Unity and How You Fit In
The KU structure is designed as a united collaboration, not as system of hierarchy.
It is assumed that there will be extensive communication and co-operation between the various committees for maximum mutual benefit.
Included here are brief descriptions as to the focus and responsibilities of each committee.
Living as a vegan is a prerequisite for all committee members.
By reading though the following, you will have the opportunity to consider which, if any, of the various committees you may like to volunteer for.
CORE COMMITTEE
A highly motivated and dedicated group, of no more than 12, individuals, whose task is to oversee the co-ordination of all other committees. The core committee will work especially closely with the four Primary Committees, as well as the Legalities Committee, and the Finances Committee.
All members of the Core Committee will work as of the Ambassadors Karuna Unity.
PRIMARY COMMITTEES (4)
Roadshow Committee
This committee will be at the helm of the Karuna Unity Roadshow. These people will work in collaboration with the Satellite Committee as well as many relevant and associated Secondary and Sub-Committees.
Education Committee
The focus of this committee will include:
Creating extensive educational resources for the three primary incentives of veganism – namely: Animal Rights, Environmental Salvation, Human Health – with an intention to then bring that education to the attention of mainstream populations and governments.
The group will also be the keepers of the Karuna Unity Vegan Library; a global list of all vegan books along with their summaries and evaluations.
The Education Committee will work closely with the Karuna Upspring Committee and be associated with the Roadshow Committee.
Outreach and Promotions Committee
This committee will be responsible for bringing the Karuna Unity to vegan organizations, vegan initiatives, vegan businesses, and vegan individuals worldwide.
They will work especially closely with The Website and Social Media Committee and act as coordinator between the aforementioned and the Database Committee.
Member Care Committee
This Committee will – in context and appropriateness - be responsible for looking after, nurturing and supporting those who have followed the Karuna Unity.
The Membership Care Committee will oversee the three Sub Committees: Individual Members Committee, Vegan Organizations Committee, and Commercial Vegan Businesses Committee

SECONDARY COMMITTEES (7)
Legalities Committee
This committee will be responsible for all legalities relating to the Karuna Unity and will interact with all other committees, especially the Core Committee, the Database Committee, The Government Committee, and the Financial Committee.

Satellite Committee
This committee will oversee all Satellite Roadshows. These people will work closely with a multitude of Sub Committees including: the Quality Control Committee, Guidelines and Support Committee, and Hosts Committee.
Finances Committee
This committee will be responsible for all financial matters relating to the KU, including the accounts, and will work extensively with the Roadshow Committee.
The Finances Committee will also work in very close collaboration with the Fundraising Committee and Sponsorship Committee.
Karuna Upspring Committee
This committee will be the hub of bringing vegan education to children, both individually and within schools and communities.
These people will work closely with the Education Committee,
Website and Social Media committee
This committee will be responsible for all KU exposure and interactions via social media and will be responsible for updating and maintaining the website. This committee will work especially closely with the Education Committee, The Outreach and Promotions Committee and the Database Committee.
Database Committee
This committee is responsible for storing and safeguarding all KU data according to legal requirements. The Database Committee will work in concert with many other committees including the Website and Social Media Committee, the Roadshow Committee, the Karuna Upspring Committee, the Artists Liaison and Care Committee and the Membership Care Committee.
Endorsement Committee
These programs are designed to recognise all vegan businesses that fulfil the necessary requirements to achieve the Karuna Unity Endorsement Certification. Such certification will provide assurance to vegan consumers of the ethical status of the business and provide the business with additional exposure and kudos. This committee will oversee and coordinate the all aspects of the KU Endorsement programs and will work alongside the Commercial Vegan Businesses Committee and the Vegan Organisations Committee.

SUB COMMITTEES (20)
Logistics committee
This group will be responsible for all logistics as they relate to the KU Roadshow. This committee will also assist the Karuna Upspring and the Fundraising Committee.
Transport committee
This committee will be responsible for all transport related issues for the work of the Karuna Unity.
Front of House committee
This committee is directly related to the Karuna Unity Roadshow and will act as an advisory resource for the Satellite Committee.
They will act as an interface between the KU and the general mainstream public and they will have a sub-division in charge of security.
Press / Media committee
This committee will be responsible for all communications with the press and media, on behalf of the KU.
Artist Liaison and Care committee
This committee will represent the home hub of the vegan artisans who volunteer to perform at the KU Roadshow.
Quality Control committee
This committee will be responsible for all aspects of quality control with an emphasis on the quality of content, presentation and professionalism of Satellite Roadshows.
Production and Direction committee
This committee will be responsible for the production and direction of the Karuna Unity Roadshow.
Stage Crew committee
This committee will be responsible for all aspects of Roadshow stage management including stage construction, lighting and sound.
Accommodation committee
This committee will be responsible for securing the accommodation of all those involved in the Karuna Unity Roadshow, once it is on tour.
Catering committee
This committee will be responsible for securing food and catering needs of those involved in the Karuna Unity Roadshow, once it is on tour.
Ticket Sales committee
This committee will be the central hub for all KU Roadshow ticket sales in each major city in the world.
Hosts’ Committee
This committee will be responsible for finding hosts for KU Satellite shows and working with them in the staging of their events.
Guidance and Support Committee
This committee will be responsible for supporting all Satellite hosts and acting as a go-between them and other related KU committees.
Individual Members Committee
This committee will be responsible for communications between individual vegans and the Karuna Unity. They will work in close contact with the Membership Care Committee.
Vegan Organizations Committee
This committee will be responsible for communications between vegan organizations and the Karuna Unity. They will work in close contact with the Membership Care Committee.
Commercial Vegan Businesses Committee
This committee will be responsible for communications between commercial vegan businesses and the Karuna Unity. They will work in close contact with the Membership Care Committee and the Endorsement Programs Committee.
Research and Statistics committee
This Committee will do research into the science backing veganism, as well correlate vegan statistics. This group will work closely with the Education Committee.

Government Appeals committee
This committee will act as ambassadors between the governments of the world and the KU. They will also compile documents of education and appeal to bring to all those in power.
Public Education committee
This is a branch of the Education Committee whose focus it is to educate the mainstream public.

Films and Documentaries Committee
This committee will create films and videos for the KU to be used in many arenas including social media and all aspects of the work done by the Education Committee.
